Since her admission into practice in August 2006, Julia had practised in various areas of law, including criminal law, commercial litigation, workers compensation and family law in Adelaide, South Australia. Immediately prior to moving to Perth and joining Paterson & Dowding, Julia was running her own specialised family law practice in Adelaide.
Julias experience as a business owner and sole family law practitioner has made her realise that, when it comes to family law, clients want an accessible and approachable person to represent them. She understands that separation and divorce can be an emotional and confusing time and she is committed to giving extra personal, and client-focused advice and representation in all matters of family law, including:
- Division of matrimonial assets, including complex matters involving family trusts and businesses, partnerships, superannuation splitting and overseas assets;
- Spousal maintenance;
- Parenting arrangements for children after separation;
- Child Support, including Agreements in relation to special child-support arrangements;
Julia has strong experience in negotiating prompt effective settlements in both children and property matters and in representing her clients in court in litigious matters.
In addition to her legal qualifications and experience, Julia holds two other tertiary degrees in Linguistics and Communications.
